What this test checks
Looks for people connected with the company who appear on the register of disqualified directors more than once.
Repeat disqualifications are rare. They usually mean someone has been found unfit to run a company on separate occasions, or has breached an earlier disqualification.
What a fail looks like
A person connected with the company has more than one disqualification. That points to a pattern of conduct rather than a single episode.
Harmless explanations
- A single case can appear as more than one record, for example where an undertaking was varied.
- A name match may belong to a different person.
What to do
- Confirm the match against the person's register entry.
- If confirmed, treat any relationship with the company as high risk and consider whether to proceed at all.
