What this test checks

Reads the reason a care registration ended. A registration can end at the provider's request, or the Care Quality Commission can end it through enforcement, withdrawing the provider's permission to deliver regulated care. This test reports the second kind, with the registration and the date it ended.

An enforcement ending is reported as a current finding for five years.

What a fail looks like

The regulator cancelled at least one of the company's care registrations through enforcement.

Harmless explanations

  • It may relate to one location of a larger provider whose other services are rated well.

What to do

  • Read the regulator's reports for the location concerned.
  • Check the ratings of the provider's current locations before commissioning care.

Part of the test catalogue. Every check Senserity runs, with its severity and the plan it is available on.
