Leaving an organisation
How to leave a Senserity organisation, and what happens to your account and data afterwards.
If you no longer need access to a Senserity organisation (for example, when a client engagement ends or you change roles) you can leave it. This removes your access without deleting the organisation or its data.
Before you leave
If you are the Owner, you cannot leave an organisation while you hold the Owner role. You must first transfer ownership to another member. If there are no other members, you must either invite someone to take ownership or delete the organisation instead.
To transfer ownership, go to Settings → Members, find the member you want to make the new owner, and use the role controls to change their role to Owner. This changes your own role to Admin and then you can leave.
Leaving an organisation
-
Open Settings from the sidebar.
-
Go to the Organisation tab.
-
Scroll to the bottom of the page. Find the Leave organisation option.
-
Confirm that you want to leave. You will be asked to confirm your intention before the action takes effect.
Your access is removed immediately. If you belong to other organisations, you remain in those. If this was your only organisation, you are taken to the new organisation screen.
What happens to your data
Leaving an organisation does not delete any company data, alerts, reviews, or reports. Your past activity (reviews you created, reports you generated, actions in the audit log) remains visible to the other members of the organisation under your name.
Notifications about that organisation's activity stop immediately.
Rejoining
If you leave an organisation and later need to rejoin, an Owner or Admin of that organisation must invite you again. Your previous role is not automatically reinstated; you start with whatever role you are invited at.
Removing someone else
If you are an Owner or Admin and you need to remove a member (rather than leaving yourself), see Inviting team members, which covers managing existing members including removal.
